Genworth Financial Portfolio Management Analyst in Stamford, Connecticut


The Portfolio Management Analyst will assist in the daily management and oversight for the insurance portfolios, including proper allocation of assets to appropriate product and legal entity portfolios. The individual in this role will work with Portfolio Managers and across Genworth's businesses to develop investment allocations that will deliver targeted income and return on equity objectives within acceptable risk/return framework.


  • Work within overall Investments team to support total Genworth global investment strategy, asset allocation and business objectives, including pricing, planning and product development

  • Contribute to projects impacting product portfolios, including Strategic Asset Allocation

  • Partner with Asset Management on tactical strategies

  • Monitor bond purchases and cash balances to ensure they are in line with operating plans

  • Assist with annual update of asset allocation models

  • Responsible for reinsurance trust operations/certifications and monthly and quarterly portfolio management reporting

  • Maintain consolidated documentation of investment strategies

  • Responsible for allocating private assets to product portfolios

  • Additional duties and projects as assigned


  • Bachelor’s in finance, business or related field

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated excellence working in teams and managing multiple tasks

  • Working knowledge of asset-liability management with financial intermediary

  • Understand the STAT/GAAP income and capital needs of an insurance company

  • Strong Project Management skills

  • Excellent MS Excel and PowerPoint skills


  • CFA or MBA

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with incomplete information to form and implement decisions

  • Working experience in financial markets/fixed income securities

  • Ability to be effective in a fast changing and demanding environment

  • Working knowledge of VBA and/or database software

  • Clear examples of executed value-add strategies

  • Proficiency with Barclays Point and/or BlackRock's Aladdin
