Genworth Financial Director and Actuary, Valuation, Long Term Care in Richmond, Virginia
Work on the Valuation analysis projects including GAAP, STAT and TAX roll forwards, Source of Earnings analysis
Work on analyzing reserves (GAAP, Statutory, Tax and other bases) for Active Life and Disabled Life, and the drivers that impact their movement
Work on controls enhancement for the Valuation processes
Be able to respond to questions from Senior management, Auditors, Reinsurers, Finance and other interested parties
BA/BS Degree in mathematics, statistics and/or related major including Mathematical knowledge, skills and abilities
5 + years of relevant work experience within insurance industry
3 + years of valuation experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities.
Excellent oral and written communications skills and being able to document processes well
Attention to detail, strong focus on accuracy and be able to review actuarial processes
Flexible team player, self-driven, motivated and shows initiative
Long Term Care reserving experience a plus
Strong actuarial modeling skills in using valuation and projection models
Knowledge of SQL /SAS
Knowledge of AXIS actuarial software
