Genworth Financial QA/Testing Analyst in Richmond, Virginia

Job Description


The Quality Assurance Analyst will help strengthen the Quality Assurance function within Distributions IT. This position will leverage automated testing tools to support upgrades, enhancements. This role will interface with End Users, Business Analysts, Developers and business stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, & Operations). It provides a prime opportunity to learn about all aspects of Distribution and digital technologies.


  • Execute and review automated and manual testing for business applications with multiple interfaces.

  • Build test scripts for acceptance and regression tests using automated tools

  • Work with the business users to develop testing-related documentation, including test plans, test cases/scripts, and defect reports

  • Execute System/Integration/Functional tests and the documentation of tests results

  • Create and manage the defect logging/tracking/reporting process

  • Participate in upgrades for applications with application owners, decommissioning of retiring systems and annual disaster recovery test

  • Report key testing statistics and trends related to test design and execution highlighting system quality


  • 3+ years’ experience in both manual and automated software and data testing

  • Experience with in HP Quality Center, MS Excel, User Interface testing, SQL and a Reporting Tool

  • Experience in working closely with business users to gather requirements and propose user acceptance testing solutions

  • Experience in creating, writing and executing test plans, test cases and test scripts

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Proven ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines

  • Testing cross-browser, cross-platform, and/or cross-device compatibility for inconsistencies

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems and/or technologies.

  • Continuous Process improvement mindset

  • Ability to create and present program test status to senior leaders

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related discipline


  • Experience with tools like Selenium and Watir

  • Experience with testing iOS and Android applications

  • Testing for compliance to specified standards such as accessibility ADA 508 compliance

  • Familiar with Test/QA Metrics, Key Performance Indicators, Agile, Web/Digital projects

  • Proven history of detail oriented execution and commitment to customer satisfaction
