POSITION SUMMARY

The incumbent in this position will be responsible for the preparation and review of accounting processes to ensure that the company appropriately records accounting entries and reports accounting results in accordance with US GAAP, US Statutory, IFRS and Chinese GAAP regulations. Responsibilities will include review of system outputs from the accounting platform, review of account reconciliations, execution of defined accounting processes and oversight of tasks executed by Genworth’s third-party outsource partner – Genpact.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate system outputs to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for all Fixed Income assets across multiple accounting basis

  • Research and review of accounting guidance to assess existing processes – identifying potential efficiencies and/or gaps in current business processes

  • Handle preparation of assigned accounting tasks (e.g., quarterly FAS 91, monthly pricing analytics)

  • Thorough review and validation of work performed by the outsource partner, Genpact, to include assessment of current workflows and identification of opportunities to change which functions are ultimately outsourced

  • Actively participate in strategic initiatives to implement new asset classes to include testing of PAM system

  • Handle other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree Accounting, Finance or other business related discipline

  • 3-5 years GAAP/Stat Accounting experience

  • Collaborative mindset to work across the team to ensure successful execution of deliverables

  • Strong communication skills with ability to successfully navigate conflicts

  • Ability to prioritize assignments and multi-task to meet critical business timelines

  • Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA or advanced degree

  • Knowledge of accounting policies for Investments

  • Proficiency with PAM, Aladdin and Eagle

  • Proficiency with Oracle, General Ledger and/or TM1
