SUMMARY

Among its various services, the Document Generation Center of Excellence (DocGen COE) assists business owners in developing and maintaining critical document templates, such as bills, statements, correspondence, privacy notices, and complex regulation-driven documents including policy packages, confirms and quarterly statements sent to customers. For policy contract documents, must be able to replicate the Insurance Policy contract package for new and existing Genworth policy holders. Working with cross function teams, the role has responsibility for developing creative and efficient solutions to deliver correct, compliant and consumer friendly policy print documents. The document processing code for these document applications are created in OpenText Exstream. The COE’s internal customers also require changes and updates to their templates/products and expect the COE to manage these changes with a high premium on turnaround time and quality, working from business requirements and a project plan. Because the document applications contain critical information, the templates must be flexible, yet be developed with high end quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the DocGen COE Team, this position will be primarily responsible for developing, testing, implementing, maintaining, supporting, and documenting document applications. This individual will need to have worked in a rapid-turnaround, multi-tasked environment using OpenText Exstream to its full capability. This includes demonstrated experience with advanced Exstream functionality such as variable design, real-time composition, advanced data and content integration, output to multiple document formats, and high-volume workflow optimization. This position will interface regularly with the COE project manager, COE template/product designer, appropriate business owners, business analysts, Quality Assurance teams and fellow Exstream developers.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with a team to develop highly complex business documents applications from inception through completion, this will include gathering and documenting requirements

  • Provide going support under Run the Shop (RTS), including document updates and solving any submitted bugs, compliance maintenance and system conversions

  • Work with project teams to prepare and manage timelines and deliverables over the course of the project

  • Perform thorough unit testing and troubleshooting of potential issues in output, as well as documentation of coding of the document application and peer document reviews as necessary

  • May serve as technical project lead; provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel

  • Working knowledge of PDF and Postscript print streams with multiple different output queues and packaging requirements

  • Experience with OpenText Exstream Charting capabilities (bar charts, pie charts, line graphs)

  • Working knowledge of print processing requirements and development for high volume output

  • Maintain time accounting as per department standard

  • On call to respond to issues that may arise after hours as assigned on rotation
