A Pricing Actuarial student is responsible for creation and maintenance of actuarial tools and models used in Long Term Care (LTC) pricing. This may include documentation or peer review of both. This role will be required to support company filings for new products and internal reporting projects. The student will also be expected to sit for actuarial exams and work towards obtaining their professional designations.
Support pricing initiatives of LTC insurance products to meet market requirements while maintaining the company's profitability and risk management objectives.
Assist with building and maintaining pricing models.
Develop tools to aid in the pricing of LTC products.
Support policy form filings, including preparing exhibits for actuarial memoranda and reviewing technical aspects of policy forms
Provide technical support in writing new product specifications.
Document tools and processes used in pricing.
Support Multi-year Planning process for new business.
Support ad hoc requests for actuarial assistance on product issues.
BA/BS Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics and/or related major
At least 2 exams and commitment to achieve FSA designation
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to meet project deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Basic programming skills and experience in Microsoft applications of Excel, VBA, Access and Word
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to interact professionally and effectively in a team environment
Self-driven, motivated and shows ownership in tasks
Relevant work experience within LTC or other insurance or finance industry, in the pricing, experience studies, valuation or projections areas
Basic knowledge of insurance terminology
Basic knowledge of accounting concepts
Experience with Pricing Software, preferably MG-ALFA or AXIS
