Genworth Financial Actuarial Analyst, LTC Model Development in Richmond, Virginia

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and improve multi-purpose models in GGY AXIS

  • Collaborate with IT team to maintain and improve supporting database systems

  • Plan, design, and build new AXIS models from existing legacy systems

  • Perform reconciliations to existing Actuarial models

  • Research product features, assumptions, and reporting requirements

  • Write specifications, test, and implement model changes

  • Create, maintain, and improve model documentation

  • Design and implement financial reporting controls and management reporting metrics

  • Provide valuation production support as needed

  • Support product line and corporate initiatives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related major

  • Pursuing actuarial credentials; demonstrated ability to pass exams

  • Competency with Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities in an organized manner

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Team player

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in an actuarial role

  • Experience using GGY AXIS or similar actuarial modeling software

  • Programming experience, especially Visual Basic, SQL, and/or MATLAB

  • Exposure to GAAP, Statutory and Tax financial reporting requirements
