POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Quality Lead will join the Enterprise Data Management office to contribute to Genworth’s data transformation. You will be responsible for development and implementation of data quality measures and dashboards across USMI at Genworth. From formulating the solution design, development of high quality software, validating the system, and successful implementation and support, this role will produce critical deliverables to support the monitoring and ongoing improvement of data quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will lead data quality tool implementation (Technology and Data) ensuring to meet scope, timeline and budget

  • You will implement data quality dimension, including stakeholder change requests

  • You will manage ongoing data quality tool (IDQ) maintenance, including test cases

  • You will partner with IT on vendor relationship with specific IDQ; vendor issue management, performance, upgrades/maintenance

  • You will verify test criteria

  • You will own, develop and manage Data Quality Reporting in conjunction with Data Quality Analysts

  • You will address questions on reporting logic, metrics, scorecards, etc. in conjunction with Data Quality Analysts and Business Stewards

  • You will deliver DQ solutions and capabilities to Data Stewards to measure their business-critical data and support data management processes for stewards

  • You will develop and maintain data quality subject matter expertise in support of system/data assessments, design, delivery and test

  • You will assist the Data Quality Analyst in the improvement of processes and streamlining of data content for consistency and efficiency, enforcing data content standards across the enterprise

  • You will work on matrix project team incorporating data quality best practices in alignment of project timelines and budgets

  • You will thoroughly test of solutions to meet agreed scope and approach.

  • You will create technical documentation in support of delivery of Data Quality tools and scorecards

  • You will guide small development teams, as required, in completion of projects

  • You will provide effective communications, in both technical and non-technical terms, verbally and in writing with stakeholders at all levels

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Management Information Systems or similar discipline

  • 1-3 years hands on experience applying data management best practices in data cleansing, data profiling, data mapping, data validation, and data analysis

  • 1-3 years data integration development experience

  • Hands on knowledge of data analysis, profiling, with Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) developer and analyst

  • Experience with data cleansing practices, standardization, and de-duplication

  • Knowledge of IDQ mappings and IDQ import/export features

  • Knowledge of designing rules based on profile analysis using Informatica Analyst tool

  • Ability to construct complex SQL queries

  • Familiarity with reporting, analytics, and visualization as it relates to data quality metrics

  • Understanding of logical and physical models

  • Knowledge of current data quality trends and technologies

  • Experience with data root cause analysis and cross functional resolution of data issues

  • Understanding of approach to link data metrics with process improvements

  • Continuous process improvement, measurement and change adoption experience in data management

  • Familiar with root cause analysis and remediation recommendations

  • Background in system design, development, and implementation

  • Background collaborating on matrix team and enterprise development programs in gathering requirements and delivery of solutions

  • Hands-on data quality tools experience with industry leading tools like Informatica IDQ, IBM QualityStage, Information Analyzer, Jira

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma & Lean certifications or experience preferred

  • Experience in the Mortgage Insurance Industry preferred

  • The duties and responsibilities of this role require that the position be physically based in the USMI headquarter office in Raleigh, NC
