POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Governance Analyst will join the Enterprise Data Management office to contribute to Genworth’s data transformation. You will be responsible for supporting Data Governance practices, Data Quality operations, performing data issue remediation, and defining and monitoring the adherence of policies and processes partnering with Genworth business data stewards. As a Data Governance Analyst, you will work closely with the Business Data Stewards and IT teams in defining data profiles, constructing data dictionary, identifying quality metrics, guiding root cause analysis, and leading continuous improvement of data quality at Genworth. You will perform data stewardship functions in alignment to business teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect, document, and review business requirements for dashboards, standard reports, data marts, and warehouse

  • Facilitate data mapping between legacy systems and target data repositories with IT and Business

  • Define business requirements and transformation rules

  • Define business data quality rules at attribute, entity, and relationship level

  • Work collaboratively and liaison between business and IT organizations

  • Lead data governance at project, program, and enterprise level

  • Support the implementation of data governance and quality framework

  • Collaborate with business subject matter experts and data stewards to define data standards and business rules

  • Work directly in Genworth programs to identify and document data quality requirements and implement through data quality development team

  • Participate in data management governing bodies and counsels

  • Document governance SOPS aligned to key business processes with corresponding SLAs

  • Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and regulations as it relates to enterprise data

  • Act as an advisor for data management best practices for enterprise projects

  • Document governance SOPS aligned to key business processes with corresponding SLAs

  • Ensure timely reporting of data quality scorecards and review process by functional area

  • Lead Data Quality Framework while improving business information and defining standardization across the enterprise

  • Ability to define business data quality rules

  • Provide data quality training promoting best practices, enable standard practices, and communicate value to the business

  • Provide data analysis of profile and reject reports resulting in improvement recommendations

  • Ability to prioritize data quality issues with accountable for remediation in a timely manner

  • Perform root cause analysis and remediation through data management incident management

  • Able to work closely with business and IT teams understanding cross functional business processes and how systems support

  • Ability to cleanse data issues related to data quality rejects

  • Demonstrated ability to define data quality metrics and dashboards

  • Defined business requirements for Informatica IDQ maplets

  • Ability to define data lineage at functional and attribute level

  • Operationalize data quality processes into ongoing governance post program delivery

  • Define and provide ongoing enhancement of the data quality attributes, data quality dimensions, data quality metrics and data quality scoring and reporting

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Management Information Systems or similar discipline

  • 1-3 years’ experience in implementing or participating on data governance counsels

  • 1-3 years’ hands-on operational data stewardship experience

  • 1-3 years SQL experience (ability to query data sources directly)

  • 1-3 years Informatica Analyst or related tool experience (Collibra)

  • 1-3 years Informatica IDQ or related data quality tool experience (Trillium)

  • 1-3 years Tableau or other related reporting platform experience (Microstrategy, etc.)

  • Ability to document data business requirements, data flows, data requirements, SOPS, and Service Agreements

  • Knowledge of data models and physical structures in reporting, analytics, or warehouse models

  • Continuous process improvement, measurement and change adoption experience in data management

  • Background collaborating on matrix team and enterprise development programs in gathering requirements and delivery of solutions

  • Microsoft Office proficiency

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PMP certification

  • Insurance or financial industry experience

  • The duties and responsibilities of this role require that the position be physically based in the USMI headquarter office in Raleigh, NC
