Competitive Financial Analytics Manager

This role is part of the Market Intelligence team and focuses on the financial statements analysis of Mortgage Insurance Industry. Key skill sets needed for this role are,
Familiarity with Income Statements, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows. Some direct experience reviewing and/or preparing financial statements is required.
Intellectual curiosity to dive deep into accounting reports and developing a thorough understanding of business performance metrics.
Ability to work directly with senior leaders and quickly turnaround analytical requests related to financial statements and accounting results.
Analyze each competitor’s financial statements on a regular basis and prepare summaries.
Make presentations and recommendations based on trends in competitor financials.
Participate in monthly accounting reviews and become a subject matter expert in accounting concepts that are important for Mortgage Insurance companies.
Maintain up to date data on competitors’ financials and create dashboards that show expected results based on industry analyst projections.
Support Director Market Intelligence with special projects and analytics needs.
Stay current on relevant accounting standards affecting the Mortgage Insurance industry.
Create and maintain spreadsheets models to extrapolate accounting results.
Maintain a comprehensive view of the strategic position of each MI company.
4-year degree in finance, accounting or related field
Must understand mortgage banking and mortgage insurance
Strong Financial acumen: ability to analyze and evaluate data
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
Proven team skills, specially working in cross-functional matrix teams
Must be results-driven and able to multi-task assignments to defined timelines
Excellent analytical skills
Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Skills.
Ability to work beyond normal business hours when required by project timelines
Ability to travel domestically on occasion
Preference will be given to candidates that are holders of or are working towards a relevant certification such as CPA, CFA or advanced degree such as MBA, MS
